Quick Reference Guide

Mind mapping is about speed of thought. Using keyboard shortcuts allows you to capture ideas as fast as they come to you, maintaining your "flow state" without breaking concentration to reach for the mouse. This guide covers the essential shortcuts for rapid mapping.

TIPSQuick Advice

Use the "Insert" key to quickly grow your map outwards.
Use "Enter" to add siblings (ideas at the same level).
Export to Word regularly to see your outline taking shape.

Creation Basics

Insert: Add a sub-branch (New level down)
Enter: Add a sibling branch (Same level)
F2: Edit the text of the selected branch
Delete: Remove the selected branch (and its children)
Ctrl + Arrow Keys: Move a branch to a new position

Navigation & View

Arrow Keys: Navigate around the map
Ctrl + Scroll Wheel: Zoom In / Out
Ctrl + Shift + F: Fit map to screen
F4: Focus on branch (collapses others)

Export & Presentation

Ctrl + Shift + W: Export rapid outline to Microsoft Word
Ctrl + Shift + P: Export visual map to PowerPoint
F5: Start Presentation Mode
